10/22/08 09:46 PM | Incredibly Tasty... and Ridiculously Easy to Make!I must admit, when I first read through this recipe it looked like a decent, but unspectacular recipe. But after reading one five-star review after another, my curiosity was piqued and I set out to find out what all the excitement was about.
Well I've got to say, all those five-star reviewers hit the proverbial nail on the head! I don't know why this recipe works as well as it does (there are no secret or special ingredients, and their is certainly nothing out of the ordinary about it) but this Pepper Steak recipe is incredibly tasty. And it's ridiculously easy to make! It's going straight into my "Favorite Recipe" file, to be sure!
I made a couple of small changes to the original recipe (see below) and served it over rice.
1. I upped the amount of water to a full cup and used two bouillon cubes (one beef and one vegetable).
2. In light of the fact that I used a second bouillon cube, I cut back on the salt, adding a little less than 1/2 teaspoon. I figured I could always add more salt at the end of the cooking process, if needed (which it didn't). |

Here's an easy, reliable way to ensure a moist and flavorful turkey...simply baste the turkey with chicken stock during roasting. When the turkey is done, use a bit more stock to make a quick and tasty gravy.
