With my banana puddin i first layer bananas with vanilla wafers and set to the side becuase my mix gets thick quick! i mix 2 boxes according to direction and add 1 tub 12 oz cool whip and fold in1 can condensed milk and 8 oz sour cream. This reicipe if done right will have them comin for more!

hate to say it BUT

there ain't nuttin' SOUTHERN about a "mix from a box" 'cept maybe the mix was bought in the south or stirred up by a Southerner in the south. Southern Banana pudding is made from scratch and this stuff can't touch the REAL stuff.

"Southern" Banana Pudding

Missmarty here is how I prepare this kind of pudding: I mis the pudding as directed on the boxes, using 2 cups of milk per box. After letting it stand for ca 5 min, I fold about 3/4 of the cool whip into the pudding. Alternate layers of cookies, bananas and pudding, ending with pudding. I then add a single layer of sliced strawberries, cover the entire surface with the remaining cool whip and garnish it. This final step is completely up to you/your niece. Bon Appetit!

Southern Banana Pudding

Cooking instructions are fine, but my niece needed to know, how to put it all together. It doesn't say, whether or not to mix the cool whip with the pudding (as some people do) or what. Not very good instructions.
