Ingredients

  • 2 qts apple cider
  • 1 qt water
  • 1/2 medium orange, with peel, thinly sliced
  • 12 fresh lemon, with peel, thinly sliced
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch ground allspice (to taste)
  • 1 medium orange, with peel, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 fresh lemons, with peel, thinly sliced (optional)

Cooking Instructions

1. Bring apple cider, water, tea bags, orange slices, lemon slices, whole allspice, cloves, and cinnamon sticks to a boil over high heat in a large saucepan; then reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes.

2. Remove the tea bags, orange and lemon slices, allspice, and cloves; then simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the ground allspice.

3. Garnish with fresh slices of orange and lemon if desired, and serve hot or chilled.

Where are the tea bags?

This recipe calls for tea bags in the instructions, but low & behold, there is no mention in the ingredient list. Hmmmm, maybe I will move on.
