Cooking Instructions

Place about 1/2 inch of water in a pot. Set a steamer basket down inside the pot or place a bamboo steamer on top. Bring the water to a boil. Place the kale in the steamer, cover, and steam until the kale is tender but still slightly crisp and has a bright green color. Remove, drain, and place in a serving dish.

Instead of slicing the kale first, you can steam or boil 4 - 5 whole leaves and then slice them when they're done. This way of cooking vegetables-especially greens-is delicious because it keeps most of the natural juices and nutrients from getting lost during cooking.
