Place 1/2 inch of water in a pot and either set a stainless steel steamer basket inside or a bamboo steamer on top of the pot. Bring the water to a boil. Place the kale in the steamer, cover, and steam until it is tender but still slightly crisp and bright green. Remove the kale and place it in a serving bowl.
