Ingredients

  • 1 loaf stale Italian bread, cut into small cubes (5 cups bread cubes)
  • 1/3 cup minced celery
  • 1/4 cup minced carrot
  • 1 apple, peeled and cut in 1/2-inch dice
  • 1/2 tsp minced fresh sage or 1/4 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup water

Cooking Instructions

1. Combine all the ingredients except the water in a medium-sized bowl.

2. Add the water to moisten the stuffing. You may need a bit more or less depending on how moist you like your stuffing and how thirsty your bread is. We're aiming for moist, not mushy.

3. Bake in a pan (try a loaf pan) next to the chicken.
