Ingredients

  • Chicken Filling or Beef Filling
  • 12 taco shells or Homemade Taco Shells
  • shredded lettuce
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • hot red pepper sauce

Cooking Instructions

Prepare filling. Stuff each shell with 2 or 3 tablespoons filling; add remaining ingredients.

HOMEMADE TACO SHELLS:

About 1-3/4 hours ahead: Prepare Corn Tortillas . In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, in about 1/2 inch hot salad oil, fry a tortilla just until it softens. With tongs, fold in half, holding it open about an inch. Fry one side crisp; turn and fry other side. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with rest of tortillas.
