Cut cucumber in half lengthwise. Cut into thin slices.
In a medium bowl, combine the cilantro, lime juice, onion, sugar, vinegar, and hot pepper flakes. Stir to dissolve sugar. Add the cucumber and toss gently. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
When serving, line a bowl or platter with lettuce leaves. Using a slotted spoon, place cucumber mixture in center. Sprinkle with nuts.
