Skewer the marshmallows and set aside.
If using a charcoal grill, prepare this dessert once the coals have died down after the main course. Carefully remove the grill grate and rake the coals into a hot, glowing pile. Roast the marshmallows over the fire until sizzling, melted, and darkly browned all over, turning to ensure even cooking. This will take 3 to 6 minutes.
If using a gas grill, preheat to high and oil the grate. Place the skewer directly on the hot grate and, watching carefully, grill until the marshmallows are lightly browned, about 1 minute. Lift the skewer and brown the other side, 1 minute more.
Place a piece of chocolate on the bottom (the flat side) of a cookie. Ease a hot marshmallow off the skewer onto the chocolate. Place a second cookie (flat side down) on top of the marshmallow to make a sandwich. Wait a few seconds for the marshmallow to melt the chocolate, then eat the smore like a sandwich. Nostalgia never tasted so good!
Tip: You can use any type of cookies (from chocolate chip to gingersnaps) any any type of chocolate (from bitter to white).

08/29/08 07:06 PM | KISSin sales, that means keep it simple(Ramsey preaches this too!!)stupid! Nothing beat the old standby recipe. If you feel like going crazy/uptown, try using a Reeses PB cup instead of Herseys!
I still don't know which one I like better!! Must go do more field testing!!! |

09/01/07 08:24 AM | Have never stopped!Okay, I guess ehre is the place to confess that I have never stopped enjoying Smores! We usually make them the old way with graham crackers, but I'd be willing to try the cookie way too
Another twist on the old standby is to spread a bit of peanut butter on the graham cracker before assembling the Smore.
Or a flavored type of chocolate, a mint square, raspberry, orange. Lindt makes some wonderful chocolate squares.
Now exc me while I go get teh marshmellow off of my chin
