1. Combine basil and garlic in a blender or food processor or in a mortar and grind them together until you have a fairly smooth paste.
2. Add white beans and tahini and blend until smooth. Add salt and lemon juice to taste, and freshly ground black pepper. Chill.
3. Serve on croutons or bread. This can be frozen but is better fresh.
